Cleaning Routine

My skin was extremely dry over the winter. My cheeks felt like sandpaper. I tried different types of moisturizers. Cheap ones, expensive ones all sorts, nothing worked. Back home in Guam a tried and true remedy for all sorts of things was coconut oil. I totally forgot about it, I can only get it at it's purest form back home, but the unprocessed oil at your health food store is the next best thing. I remember my grandma having the prettiest legs, she used coconut oil on her legs. I decided to see what this would do for face and whole body.

This is what I am using for my current face routine.

To start my day off I wash my face with Origins cheeks and balances. I got this as a sample from Birchbox. This cleaner is AWESOME! I will be making a purchase of this again. A little goes a long way, I use a pea size amount, add a little water and lather. It lathers really well, it is enough to clean your face with. After rubbing it in, I wet my wash cloth and scrub my face. Rinse my face with warm water, then cold. Next I use clarifying lotion, pretty much it is a toner. I love this because unlike other toners you do not get that burning sensation because of the alcohol. Next I take about a dime size of St. Ives Timeless Skin. I thought cetaphil was a good moisturizer, nope, na ah. This stuff quenches your skin like no other. Plus it helps your skin stay firm and hopefully wrinkle free. Cetaphil was too heavy, and I still get dry patches. St. Ives is lightweight and moisturizing.

In the evening I wash my face with cetaphil, then I apply the clarifying lotion. After it I let it dry for a minute, then apply coconut oil all over my face. Not too much though, a little goes a long way. You just want to add enough for it to sink into your skin. Love this stuff!
